RUTA DEL CARES + NATURE 4X4

​

This other option allows you to combine first the trekking of the Ruta del Cares, beginning the hike in Poncebos, and arriving to Caín. Once in Cain we will start a spectacular 4x4 nature route crossing the Picos de Europa National Park across restricted access tracks, that will end up at the starting point of the day, Poncebos.

Once the hikking is done, we meet up in Cain (free time for lunch), we will start an exciting nature route helped by our 4x4 vehicles, where we will cross glacial valleys, moraines and glacial circuses, we will see pastures with their shepherds and sheepfolds where vertical transhumance to seasonal high pastures is still maintained, cattle of traditional breeds and the famous cheeses of the Picos de Europa  are elaborated, we will dive into ancient forests where oaks and beeches hide a unique botanical community and singular fauna many times unique in the world. Always guided by our qualified guides, experts in nature, who will help you see and understand the fortune of finding ourselves in such a place.

And it is that we are in one of the select areas where the last brown bears of the Cantabrian Mountains live and breed. A place where it is possible to dawn with the song of the capercaillie, see during the day a lammergeier flying,  and make your hair stand on end at night hearing the howling wolves.
